Who are Tailormade Explore?
Tailormade Explore is a new and exciting venture from the UK’s largest adventure tour operator for group travel, Explore. Having offered pioneering group travel for nearly 30 years, a dedicated team of Regional Specialists are now focussed on delivering tailor-made holidays for the adventurous at heart.
The aim of Tailormade Explore is to provide a world-class, personalised service – from helping you choose an itinerary, then booking your holiday to whilst you are travelling right through to your return home.
What is a Tailormade Explore holiday?
A tailor-made holiday is a unique experience designed to suit your own personal requirements. Regional Specialists are on hand to guide you in choosing your actual itinerary, style of accommodation and mode of transport. Tailormade Explore is all about offering flexibility when choosing the perfect holiday.
What is the difference between Tailormade Explore and other Explore holidays?
Quite simply, Tailormade Explore offers bespoke holidays, flexibly designed for each individual traveller. Explore adventures offer group holidays based on existing and fixed itineraries.
Can you offer Tailor-made holidays to anywhere in the world?
Having recently launched Tailormade Explore, we’ve initially selected a number of our favourite countries. Prior to this, a team of well-travelled specialists have spent months travelling the world over, looking at all aspects of travel within many different countries. During these journeys we have reviewed 100’s (if not 1000’s) of different styles of accommodation, have literally travelled on every available form of transportation and have uncovered gems of information before deciding which countries would best suit a Tailormade Explore holiday. Naturally, our list of destinations will grow over time.
Of course, if Tailormade Explore do not yet operate in a destination there is a very good chance that our sister company, Explore will offer a group itinerary within that country. In addition if you wish to travel in a group of 10 or more then we are able to offer a holiday following any of the itineraries featured in any of the Explore brochures.
Are the suggested itineraries based on group holidays?
No they are holidays for individuals. Our specialists have travelled extensively in the countries that they sell and in putting together a suggested itinerary are showing some of their favourite itineraries. We genuinely believe that these itineraries offer some of the best ideas for travelling around the country and therefore should be considered as a starting point in your holiday planning.
How impartial is the advice given by your specialists?
Tailormade Explore do not own any overseas ground operators, hotels or overseas ground suppliers. So the advice you’ll receive when designing an itinerary is 100% impartial. Any properties or services that we suggest are being recommended purely on merit.
Am I on my own when I am overseas?
In every country that we travel Tailormade Explore has a network of local contacts and agents who will ensure that your holiday goes as smoothly as possible. Typically you will be met on arrival at the airport and transferred to the accommodation of your choice. A local representative will provide you with an initial briefing about your holiday and will confirm that you have all of the necessary contact numbers - you can always rest assured that 24/7 backup will be available both in the country of travel and here in the UK (we are never more than a phone call away, 24 hours a day and every day of the year). Travelling privately also offers flexibility during your holiday and so your driver or guide will discuss options with you each day to ensure you get the most out of your holiday.
How familiar are your regional specialists with their areas?
The aim of Tailormade Explore is to offer the best service and knowledge available in the travel industry. For this reason we ensure that our specialists travel frequently to the countries they sell, so that they are able to not only tell you about all of the latest developments within a country, but also to give you their best up-to-date travel tips.
What style of accommodation can I expect?
We aim to take our customers beyond the normal tourist trail, but appreciate that wherever possible, many travellers appreciate comfortable, stylish or luxurious accommodation. We also know that for many, the actual destination is more important than the accommodation and so we do not limit ourselves to taking you only to where there are "good" hotels. Our Regional Specialists have all visited a wide range of accommodation options – from bush camping in the desert to some of the finest hotels found anywhere. This way we are able to offer a huge variety of accommodation styles. When putting together an itinerary we will ensure that we match your requirements for accommodation to the best available for you.
How do I travel around a country?
In whichever way you want. We will always tell you which is the most appropriate form of transport for that area and within the time you have available, and also give you the chance to travel on forms of transport appropriate to the country you are travelling in. Whether you choose to travel by road, rail, boat, aeroplane or even on foot, our aim is to ensure that you get the most from your travel experience.
What makes Tailormade Explore different from other bespoke holiday companies?
Our experience and knowledge spans nearly 30 years of taking pioneering travellers on unique adventures, so when it comes to planning, and then operating your tailor-made holiday you are travelling in safe hands. When Explore was founded the ethos of founding directors was to provide holidays that travelled in a responsible manner and got beneath the surface of the destination, proving holidays could be thought provoking, educational and good fun. This aim remains with every holiday we sell.
Why do Tailormade Explore offset the carbon emissions for all flights?
Simply because we believe in travelling responsibly and acting positively towards the world we love to travel. It is our view that actions speak louder than words regarding responsible travel and so we are the only large UK tour operator who is offsetting carbon emissions for all flights taken to help bring about a positive change. What else does Tailormade Explore consider part of responsible travel?
Not only do we work with and financially contribute to charities to help many of the communities we regularly visit, but we’re also very sensitive to the delicate balance of local cultures, wildlife and environment. At Explore we employ a full time Responsible Tourism manager who ensures that we remain at the forefront of responsible travel. In addition to our overseas initiatives we all do as much as possible to minimise our environmental impact in the head office, from recycling to energy saving initiatives such as a cycle to work scheme. What is the booking process?
Once you have an idea of where you want to go, we would recommend that you have a look at some of the example itineraries on our destination pages for inspiration. Then contact us either using the “Get a Quote” form, or by calling 0844 875 1890. At this stage one of our Regional Specialists will discuss all of the options available to you and help you put together an itinerary that matches your requirements. We will then send you a detailed itinerary with a quote. If you are happy with this, after receiving your booking form and deposit the arrangement of your holiday begins. Once we are able to confirm your booking we will send you a country fact sheet.
Can I choose which airport I depart from?
If there is a scheduled flight to your chosen destination departing from your preferred airport, then we will be able to book it for you at a competitive rate. Our rates include economy seats, upgrades to enhanced economy, business class and for those very special occasions, first class.
